Election Results Of West Bengal Panchayat: TMC Wins, BJP Reduced to a Distant Second

The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has swept the West Bengal panchayat elections, winning a majority in all 234 districts. The BJP, the main opposition party, has been reduced to a distant second.

The TMC won 12,325 gram panchayat seats, while the BJP won 2,733 seats. The CPI(M) won 460 seats, and the Congress won 168 seats. The TMC’s victory is a major setback for the BJP, which had been hoping to make gains in the panchayat elections. The BJP had been campaigning hard in the elections, and had been hoping to capitalize on the anti-incumbency factor against the TMC.

However, the TMC’s strong performance suggests that the party remains popular in West Bengal. The TMC has been in power in the state for the past 11 years, and has been credited with improving the state’s infrastructure and economy.
